Linking Aadhaar Card with PAN Card is mandatory for all Indian citizens. You can link your Aadhaar Card with PAN Card through the following steps:
Visit the Income Tax e-filing website - https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/
Click on the “Link Aadhaar” option available on the left side of the page.
Enter your PAN number, Aadhaar number, and name as per the Aadhaar Card.
Click on the “Link Aadhaar” button.
A message will be displayed on the screen confirming the successful linking of your Aadhaar Card with your PAN Card.
You can also link your Aadhaar Card with your PAN Card by sending an SMS to 567678 or 56161 in the following format:
UIDPAN<SPACE><12-digit Aadhaar><SPACE><10-digit PAN>
For example, if your Aadhaar number is 123456789012 and your PAN number is ABCDE1234F, then you need to send an SMS in the following format: UIDPAN 123456789012 ABCDE1234F
Note: It is important to ensure that the name and other details mentioned in both your Aadhaar Card and PAN Card are identical, to avoid any discrepancies in the linking process.
In case there is any mismatch in the details of your Aadhaar Card and PAN Card, you can follow the steps mentioned below:
a. Log in to the Income Tax e-filing website - https://www.incometaxindiaefiling.gov.in/
b. Click on the “Profile Settings” tab and select the “Link Aadhaar” option.
c. Fill in your details such as name, date of birth, and gender as per your Aadhaar Card.
d. Click on the “Link Aadhaar” button to initiate the linking process.
e. Once you have submitted the request, a verification process will be conducted to verify the details provided by you. The process may take some time, and you will be notified via SMS or email once the verification is complete.
You can also link your Aadhaar Card with your PAN Card by visiting your nearest Aadhaar Card enrollment center or PAN Card center. Carry your Aadhaar Card and PAN Card along with you, and the staff at the center will help you complete the linking process.
It is important to note that the deadline for linking your Aadhaar Card with your PAN Card has been extended to 30th June 2023. Failing to link your Aadhaar Card with your PAN Card may result in the invalidation of your PAN Card.
